Walls of Indifference Artist: Daniel Frachon three-dimensional ceramic Best of Show - $500 Award 2007 Fall Exhibition
The Redwood Art Association is a community of artists who value art as an essential component of every aspect of our culture. With over 250 artist members and supporters, we are Humboldt County’s oldest art organization, founded in 1956. The RAA organizes and promotes three large art exhibitions each year. This is our most important member benefit. It is part of our vision that arts are a thriving and vibrant part of our community life.
Over the past fifty-plus years the RAA has supported and encouraged artists, sponsored art exhibits, established a scholarship fund at College of the Redwoods, held lectures and workshops and supported the flourishing art scene. Our Board of Directors continues to look for opportunities to serve the arts and our artist members.
The community is very supportive of our work. Hundreds of volunteers have donated time and expertise to produce exhibits and activities. Businesses and individuals have donated awards for artists for outstanding achievements. Local businesses that underwrite each of our exhibitions are an important part of the financial health of the RAA as well as an ongoing example of the bond between business and art in our community.
We welcome new members. You may join at any exhibition entry day or by mailing the Membership Form from this web site. Thanks for visiting our site.
