Board of Directors

The Redwood Art Association is governed by a Board of Directors that is responsible for management of the affairs of the organization, coordinating activities and making decisions about how the organization can best serve the membership and the community. It is a working board and members donate their time, skill and energy to present successful events and worthwhile activities.

The Board Members for 2012 are:

Roy Grieshaber, President
Arts advocate from Eureka with forty years experience as a marketing professional. He is Vice-Chair of the Eureka Art and Culture Commission.

Robert Haynes, Vice President
Wood sculptor and photographer from Arcata, retired art professor after 39 years of teaching plus many years experience in arts administration and advocacy at the local, county and state level.

Robert Fasic, Secretary
Photographer from Eureka, originally a lawyer from Chicago, banker and trust officer, moved to Humboldt County in 1987. He also serves on the Eureka Redevelopment Advisory Board.

Rick Gustafson, Treasurer
Digital and film photographer with a passion for impressionism living in Eureka with thirty plus years experience in business and computer related management. Former Vice-Chairperson of Access Humboldt.

Julia Bednar, Past President
A Eureka artist whose paintings reflect the natural world. Retired from a career in insurance and child welfare organizations. Member of the Humboldt Arts Council Board and the Fortuna Arts Council.

Thomas Bethune
Photographer from Arcata who exhibits in local galleries, in Santa Fe NM, and has works in private collections. He studied at HSU and devotes most of his time to photography since retiring from federal service.

Sharon Falk-Carlsen
Photographer, lifelong Eureka resident, President Redwood Camera Club, a degree in History and teaching credentials from HSU, retired after 39 years as a Resource Specialist Teacher at Blue Lake Elementary.

Nancy Flemming
Eureka artist with paintings in private collections nationally, studied oil painting with Michael Hayes and watercolor with Bob Benson, former Mayor of the City of Eureka, entrepreneur and arts advocate.

Eric Furman
Metal sculptor from Fortuna using re-machined recycled materials, a retired research and development scientist with a career in digital imaging techniques.

Murline Georgeson
Eureka photographer and member of the Old Town Art Gallery. Redwood Camera Club board member, newsletter editor, webmaster and publicist. Registered Nurse retired from hospital administration.

Betty Littlefield
Enjoys art of all sorts. Eureka Natural Foods owner. A Eureka resident who enjoys gardening, being outdoors, and family.

Rachel K. Schlueter
Self-taught oil painter and life-long art advocate residing and working in Eureka, and Director of The Hall Gallery in Old Town Eureka.

Sara Westfahl
Eureka artist who paints things as she sees them, President of Old Town Art Gallery and an X-ray technician retired from a career at St. Joseph Hospital and Humboldt Radiology.

Diane Williams
Pixel painting and digital collaging now fill this Eureka artist’s days, but before retirement she was merchandise manager for a major retail company with event planning and sales team building her specialty.

Linda Wise
Environmental Compliance and Safety Manager at Recology Humboldt County by day, and sculptor, junk artist, oil and acrylic painter by night. Has B.S. and M.S. from HSU, Natural Resources.
