Board of Directors

The Redwood Art Association is governed by a Board of Directors that is responsible for management of the affairs of the organization, coordinating activities and making decisions about how the organization can best serve the membership and the community. It is a working board and members donate their time, skilsl and energy to present successful events and worthwhile activities.

The Board Members for 2013 are:

Roy Grieshaber, President
Arts advocate from Eureka with forty years experience as a marketing professional.

Robert Haynes, Vice President
Wood sculptor and photographer from Arcata, retired art professor after 39 years of teaching plus many years experience in arts administration and advocacy at the local, county and state level.

Robert Fasic, Secretary
Photographer from Eureka, originally a lawyer from Chicago, banker and trust officer, moved to Humboldt County in 1987.

Jan Hollander, Treasurer
A Eureka painter who has worked in many mediums but whose first love is oils. She enjoys reducing a scene to its essentials to capture the sense of peace and tranquility she experiences in observing it.

Julia Bednar, Past President
A Eureka artist whose paintings reflect the natural world. Retired from a career in insurance and child welfare organizations. Member of the Humboldt Arts Council Board and the Fortuna Arts Council.

Thomas Bethune
Photographer from Arcata who exhibits in local galleries, in Santa Fe NM, and has works in private collections. He studied at HSU and devotes most of his time to photography since retiring from federal service.

Sharon Falk-Carlsen
Photographer, lifelong Eureka resident, President of the Redwood Camera Club, a degree in History and teaching credentials from HSU, retired after 39 years as a Resource Specialist Teacher at Blue Lake Elementary.

Nancy Flemming
Eureka artist with paintings in private collections nationally, studied oil painting with Michael Hayes and watercolor with Bob Benson, former Mayor of the City of Eureka, entrepreneur and arts advocate.

Murline Georgeson
Eureka photographer and Redwood Camera Club board member, newsletter editor and webmaster. Registered Nurse retired from hospital administration.

Betty Littlefield
Enjoys art of all sorts. Eureka Natural Foods owner. A Eureka resident who enjoys gardening, being outdoors, and family.

David Mast
Photographer & furniture maker from Eureka, studied with Linda Conner, Morley Baer, Ansel Adams, Bret West, Robert Heineken & others. Retired from Caltrans as a Bridge Architectural Associate.

Karen A Mast
An artist, gallery director for 27 years in Sacramento. B.A. from UC Davis in Art History/Religious Studies, A.A. Cosumnes River College in Photography/Fine Arts, A.S. in Management Information Systems.

Rachel K Schlueter
Self-taught oil painter and life-long art advocate residing and working in Eureka, and Director of The Hall Gallery in Old Town Eureka.

Linda Wise
Operations Manager at Recology Humboldt County. A sculptor and oil painter with a B.S. and an M.S. in Natural Resources from Humboldt State University.

William Wood
A wildlife photographer for the past 40 years who has recently expanded into the realm of digital art. He has taught at Humboldt State University since 1976.
